"Cackler"
Rebuild photo gallery
Once the loco had been stripped down the chassis was sent away to be sand blasted and powder coated.
Parts of the loco were slowly refurbished. The cylinders were cleaned up and had new piston rings fitted, once completed they were painted to match the loco.
By now the loco was progressing nicely. The chassis was going back together after having the valve gear components painted and having steel tyres fitted to the driving wheels.
The boiler was then fitted along with the cladding and refurbished boiler fittings.
During this time paint was also being applied to the cab and water tank
After the cab and tank were fitted the lining was starting to be applied.
With the lining now finished the final bits and pieces could be fitted back onto the loco and gradually the completion was nearing.
The completed loco back on the steaming bays ready for traffic once again.
