The Romulus loco has received an extensive overhaul in the workshop
This page shows pictures and descriptions of what work has been carried out to the loco.
The loco as it arrived in the workshop, still in working order but looking a bit tired.

The boiler removed from the chassis.
The valve gear and wheels would be the next things to remove and inspect all bearing surfaces for wear
After the strip down the frames and all other parts were cleaned up and repainted, the boiler cladding and smokebox were also stripped and re painted.
The boiler assembly was fitted back onto the frames, the manifold was also serviced, repainted and the pipework was checked, cleaned and re installed.
The newly painted side tanks were re fitted along with the nameplates
The cab was fitted after re painting along with the gauges, safety valves, whistles and dome cover
Attention then turned to the tender which went through the same process as the loco. Stripped, cleaned, inspected, re painted and then re assembled.
